Paper Flag Printing

Hand waving flags are normally digitally printed on both sides so our customers can have the same image on each side or different images at no extra cost when the design colours are the same. This is the recommended option as it gives the best and brightest colour print reproduction. Prices for just 1, 2 or 3 colour prints will be lower, however for simple designs.

Having different images on each side of the printed flag gives customers so many creative options for their designs which can include additional advertising, competitions, things for kids to do like puzzles, quizzes and colouring or listing other events.

There is a choice of paper too for printed flags. One option is to choose 100gsm bond paper which gives the print a matt finish while, for a little extra, designs printed onto 130gsm silk paper have a wonderful shine which is particularly suitable for complex multi-colour, photo quality designs.

Prices for the silk finish include a sealer which is used to hold colours fast. The silk finish is recommended and is superior to the bond finish used by many other flag makers. Most importantly, with the inclusion of the sealer at no extra cost this means that our flags will be showerproof – essential for most customers who want to ensure that the print on their flags will not be affected by light rain.

Flag designs are printed to the full 170 x 130mm area leaving a white section to wrap round the stick. It would be helpful if artwork designs supplied to us for printed flags could as far as possible meet the following specification:

• We require an EPS or PDF file comprised of outlined vector graphics, high-res images (300 DPI or above) or a combination of the two. The artwork should be sized at 170mm wide x 130 mm high for each side and have 3mm bleed if the design requires colour print to the edges of the flag.
• Please ensure that if spot colours are required they should be present in the artwork when supplied, or if not they should be noted in your accompanying documents/emails.

We will always do our best to help customers with their artwork but there may be a charge if a lot of work is required.
